Fall, a season, a happening, a color, a chill.
As the title says, this season people can easily associate the word with several things without even thinking too hard. Depending on where you live, it could be when garden beds are prepped to sleep for winter. Or new crops planted for the next shift of temperatures. This colors shift from greens to oranges, yellows and reds. The sounds of fires crackling light up to keep warm. A warm beverage sipped, stews to warm the belly. A sense of comfort, a normality we all know in an ever changing world hell bent on being “futuristic” pretending its fantastic. Yet if its so fantastic why is so many so miserable, upset with each other and world seems a bit grim when looking outside the immediate environment of you space?
I will tell you what I think, the world will always function a certain way. Fighting nature humans never win. Plants still work and grow as they always have despite human tinkering. Animals, fungi, soil life, bacteria blah blah blah.. its all thriving by being itself. For some reason human have this fantasy of being something they aren’t and seed the mind that they aren’t good enough as is. As is, has a dirtiness to it from how sales put to it. But what if, what if you were great just as you were. Sure with added experience and knowledge. But what if you stopped trying to fit in, because if everyone is trying to fit in. Who are you really trying to be like? Ponder that one.
While sure new innovations to make life ‘easier’ or ‘more convenient’ is appealing in a busy world. Slow down, pause as you are so so exhausted by everything. It wasn’t really easier or convenient after all was it. The cost became too great, you worked harder for that easier convenience. At the expense of your time, and the years of knowledge slowly drifting away.
People used to know each other by their profession, it became our last names for a lot of us. Communities were closer, we knew and cared about each other. Now we scramble to make illusionary ones online to feel connected and close to someone, anyone. Yes, you can make genuine friends online I am not diminishing that. But the real things, like when you cry, they can’t hug you. When you did something great there is no high five or a hand shake. Its been substituted with emojis and abbreviations that some have no idea what they really mean.
In this chaos, try to slow down notice yourself and your community, don’t have one? Make one or join one. Whether online or in person. Just notice there is a real difference, don’t become to compliant with less than you deserve. AND no I don’t mean you, the ones who use words similar for entitlement and control… you can piss right off. I mean the genuine souls that have good hearts and deserve the love and compassion and a real community, gatherings, celebrations. Laughter, love, hugs, knowing you really belong not just because you agree.
Food for thought. I may not write regularly but I am thinking of everyone. I try my best to make my rounds and comment or join in chats. I am slowing down a bit… but I am okay. Know you are loved and cared about, I truly wish you the best in what you absolutely deserve.
Love, Figdewdrop
Just as herbs and veggies grown together,
you do not have to be just like the ones around you to belong and grow together.
Be okay and celebrate your differences. Remember who each other are truly, and love it.
